Embracing Change

Hey everyone! I'm here today to share a bit of what I have been working towards. Since the age of 15, I've always been on the go, moving from one job to the next without a break in between. I prided myself on my independence and ability to contribute, especially financially. So, when I decided to take a step back and rely on my husband while I ventured into starting my own business, it was a mix of excitement and fear.

For the first time, I wasn't bringing in a steady paycheck, and that was a huge adjustment for me. My new business isn't the main breadwinner just yet, and that's okay. I'm still exploring, learning, and figuring out this path to working for myself, aiming for a life where I can live comfortably and save a bit on the side. No, I'm not chasing the millionaire dream (though it does sound nice), because, as they say, "more money, more problems."

Growing up, my family struggled financially, and experiences from my childhood have shaped my perspective on life in profound ways. I've come to appreciate the value of money, the importance of gratitude, and the beauty of simplicity. These lessons have made me who I am today, and I believe they've set me on a path that my 15-year-old self would be proud of, even if it's not exactly what I might have envisioned back then.

But here's the thing—success and richness aren't just about having loads of money. To me, being rich means not having to worry about the next bill or whether we can afford the basics. By that definition, I guess you could say I'm rich now. Yet, this journey has made me question so many of the choices we're "supposed" to make, according to society's standards. Keeping up with the Joneses? That's just not for me.

My husband and I crave freedom and adventure, something we've tasted through van life. This longing for a life on the move isn't about escaping but finding a purpose that feels true to us. We don't want kids just to fulfill some societal expectation of purpose. For us, the reward comes from the hard work and love we put into maintaining our moving home, our van and our land home.

Our adventures on the road, like our 9-day trip to Maine, have only fueled this desire. The beauty of van life is that home is wherever we are, and the idea of never feeling homesick because our home is always with us is incredibly appealing.

I promise to be more consistent with updates here. In the meantime, keep an eye on my social media for a sneak peek into what we've been up to.

Here's to embracing the journey, wherever it may lead!
