A Fresh Start: My Leap into Travel Planning

Hey there! It feels like a lifetime since we last caught up, doesn't it? Well, today, I'm breaking the silence and sharing what's been happening in my world. Yes, it's been a long time coming, but here we are, in April 2024, and I'm back, ready to pour my heart into this blog once again.

Can you believe my last post was all the way back on January 17, 2022? Time really does fly, and boy, do I have some stories to catch you up on!

So, let's rewind to 2020, a year many of us found ourselves reevaluating life and its many possibilities. Amidst that year of awakening, I decided to follow a path many had suggested but I'd always hesitated to take; becoming a Travel Agent. Despite the initial resistance (the mere suggestion would make me cringe!), the realization hit me – I could carve out my own independent journey in this field. And just like that, the endless nights of research began. I dove headfirst into everything there was to know about breaking free from the corporate grind that had me feeling trapped. My mission was clear: escape a job I loathed and dive into an industry I knew nothing about, all in my mid-30s. Sounds like a wild ride, right?

By September 2021, my new adventure had officially begun. Transitioning into the travel industry wasn't easy, especially juggling it alongside a full-time corporate job. I had to master industry standards, endure endless supplier trainings, and navigate the complex world of setting up a business and marketing it online. But why the drastic change, you might wonder?

The dream of living a more flexible life was my beacon. The freedom of traveling in our van, exploring new places without constraints, became my vision of happiness. Unfortunately, my corporate job was a chain holding me back from truly embracing this nomadic dream. Thankfully, my husband's job offered the flexibility we needed, which ultimately led me to take the leap and quit my corporate life in the summer of 2023.

I can almost hear the "must be nice" remarks, and to those who think so, let me share this: achieving this dream wasn't a walk in the park. It required hard work, dedication, and the willingness to start from scratch. For anyone feeling stuck or envious, remember, change starts with you. Your happiness and your life's path are in your hands.
